This is an excerpt from the landmark 1998 1,2,3 Soleils concert at the Bercy Arena in Paris—which drew 15,000 fans—with Khaled and fellow raï stars Faudel and Rachid Taha. Each singer represented a different aspect of Raï, with Khaled as the established innovator, Faudel as the up and coming heart throb/crooner, and Rachid Taha, the cutting edge rocker. “Abdel Kader” is a 1993 hit penned by Khaled, and tells of the heartbreak of lost love.
